Swimming
Our beautiful blug flag beach Fintra, is only 10 mins drive from the town. It is southfacing with golden sand with pan views of the mountains, you can take a looped walk around or walk the boardwalk for plenty of excerise. You can also avail of the leisure centre facilities in the hotel next door, the swimming pool, sauna, and gym at a very resonable rate.
Walking After breakfast you can take the Killybegs walking map for a short or long walk, go along any of these routes and enjoy the countryside and heritage sites (click on map on homepage)
Take a drive to Slieve League, and park at the first park park and walk to the top to see the cliffs (see 'Attractions' page)
Sea Angling or Scuba Diving in Killybegs: Daily sea angling charters trips depart from the Killybegs slipway pier in front of the Bay View Hotel, Killybegs, each morning. We offer Sea Angling or Scuba diving packages from Killybegs and Donegal Bay also North West Charter Skippers Association, Angling Breaks from Killybegs and Sea Angling Charter Trips.
The popular clear waters of St. John's Point in Donegal Bay with its plentiful wildlife make it a spectacular spot for scuba diving and for clubs to train and explore. There are boats available to hire for deep sea diving from Killybegs the Donegal Bay Sub-Aqua Club.
Golfing: There are several choices for the golfer at Narin and Portnoo Golf Club
18 hole Golf club, is about 20 minutes drive from Killybegs through Ardara. There is also the 73 par links course at Murvagh near Donegal Town.
Pitch and Putt: Enjoy family fun at Sandfield near Portnoo, a short distance from Killybegs.
Pony Trekking: nearby at Deans Farm
Equestrian Centre in Bruckless, just a 5 minutes drive from Killybegs towards Donegal town. Enjoy a half-hour or one hour or longer sessions are available at this facility.
